This week’s post is thanks to another Ko-fi member. KingDarius4Lyfe offered this topic a month or so ago, but I thought that it would be better fit for October. We’re only a a few days away from my favorite month and I was excited to work on this post as well as have the opportunity to share some wonderful people to follow with you all.
Halloween is the one time of year everyone has the chance to dress up without judgement. Events throughout the year like Otacon, Katsucon, and more allow people to cosplay without having to wait. Cosplayers and those interested in fandoms are allowed to express themselves outside of Halloween and they are surrounded by people with common interests.
KingDarius4Lyfe asked me to write about some of my favorite cosplayers and I automatically thought of a few people and wanted to share them with you all. If you’re interested in cosplayers and/or cosplaying, I highly recommend giving these content creators a follow.
I would first like to talk about my friend Reina. She is one of the sweetest people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. She loves anime and cosplaying and enjoys doing it with her sisters and close friends. Reina often attends Otakon and finds the experience thrilling. Her favorite anime since childhood is Yu-Gi-Oh! and her love for the anime has deepened over the years. It holds a special place in her heart, so-much-so that most of her tattoos are centered around it. It has inspired her in countless ways and has become a part of who she is!
Check out her cosplays here and don't forget to follow her on Instagram!
Another wonderful content creator that I wanted to include is BlackHispanic (as known on Twitch). He also goes by John or even King Daeron of House Blackfyre. He’s a variety streamer on Twitch and loves to cosplay. BlackHispanic got into cosplaying in 2014 due to inspiration from seeing cosplays from Jessica Nigri. His first convention was 2015’s Baltimore Comic-Con and his first cosplay was worn there (Green Arrow from season 4 of Arrow). As BlackHispanic cosplayed more and more, he began to cosplay often as Erik Killmonger (from Black Panther). After a few years, he became immersed in the A Song of Ice and Fire universe, opting to cosplay often as Daemon Targaryen (House of the Dragon). He attends conventions on the East Coast (like New York Comic Con) and likes to cosplay during streams to celebrate milestones.
Where to find him:
Catch him on Twitch where he plays games like Fallout, Pummel Party, and Mario Kart.
You can also join his Discord for multiplayer games, watch parties, and more!
Now onto the cosplays:
The next content creator is someone that I admire. Jragon is a full time NYC based content creator and cosplayer. She began cosplaying in 2021 and started incorporating her cosplays into her Twitch streams. Jragon has hosted cosplaying events and tournaments as a way to bring people together. Her goal has always been to help others feel more comfortable with being their authentic self while also allowing them to engage in a passion that makes them happy.
Jragon frequently travels to different conventions such as Anime NYC, New York Comic Con, Pax East, Katsucon, TwitchCon and more. In 2024, she was able to host a panel alongside other incredible cosplayers and they discussed Women in Anime and their impact while cosplaying. It was a monumental experience for her to discuss the challenges and less talked about facets of being a women in the fandom space. It also offered her the chance to platform the voices of others who deserve to be heard. Jragon’s passion for cosplaying has turned into an experience that brings people together and allows everyone to share their passion for it as well.
Where to find Jragon:
You can keep up with her on Twitter.
You can also nerd out with her on Twitch.
Her cosplays are handmade, so check out her amazing work below:
And last, but not least. Megwon is another wonderful cosplayer that you can spot around different conventions. She first started cosplaying at New York Comic-Con in 2013 and only cosplayed whenever she attended conventions. When she became a content creator, she began dressing up at her home and booked photoshoots. Her love for cosplaying hasn’t faded even after a decade and the kind words she receives from bringing someone's character to life means so much to her.
Where to find her:
You can keep up with her on Twitter.
You can also follow her on Twitch to hangout with her while she plays cozy games.

I am so happy to showcase some wonderful content creators/cosplayers in this post. They each have amazing talent and express it passionately. I love the idea of being able to cosplay outside of Halloween and show love for favorite characters. Conventions are a wonderful way to be able to do this and I love that content creation outside of conventions can be done since it allows cosplayers to fully dive into something that they love. Please don't forget to follow these amazing creators and show some love on their profiles. They each work hard and deserve all of the recognition.
I hope that you liked today's post. Feel free to let me know who you've cosplayed as or who you'd cosplay as if you have the chance.
I will catch you next week for the first long-form post of October!
