Horror-Cons?

Hello, hello! We've gotten three posts in the span of a few days already (one being a simple Housekeeping post, but that's neither here nor there). Today's post will be about some horror conventions that are coming up in the month of October.

I knew that they existed, but I definitely missed a few that I thought would be cool this year. Rhea Ripley (for those who are WWE fans) attended one and got to meet David Howard Thornton (Art the Clown). Two of my faves in one room would have been insane to witness.

Anyway, if you're interested and have the opportunity to attend one, check out some of these cons that I found.

The Central PA Tattoo & Horror Expo is taking place October 3-5, 2025. Located at the Hollywood Casino located in Grantville, PA. it offers attendees the opportunity to compete in tattoo and costume competitions, experience live entertainment, and check out the VIP and bar areas.

Admission is cash only at the door (with ATMs being offered on-site). Those interested can purchase single day passes or they can enjoy an entire weekend of early Halloween fun. Costumes are encouraged and the convention is kid friendly (there's even a party for the kids being offered on Sunday).

Ticket pricing and hours of operation (EDT) are as follows:

Friday: 2pm - 10 pm @ $20

Saturday: 11 am - 10 pm @ $25

Anyone under the age of 21 is not permitted onto the gambling floor.

More info can be found on their website.

The convention also has updates on their FaceBook page. Check out special guests, the schedule of events, and FAQ there.

Special guests within the anime and horror industry will be attending this convention at the Greater Richmond Convention Center in Richmond, VA. There are a plethora of experiences offered for attendees to take part in including celebrity photo ops, a concert, and even a wrestling basic training seminar. I have personally been to multiple Vampire Fan Weekend conventions. It seems as if they grow each year, not just due to the amount of attendees, but also to the celebrity guests. It began with The Vampire Diaries cast (my favorite show) and has expanded to Supernatural, Twilight, and more. These events host many panels in which attendees can ask their favorite actors questions, phot-ops, autograph signings, and more. Also if you're a TVD fan, pictured above is Brothers Bond founders (and actors) Paul Wesley (left) and Ian Somerhalder (right) advertising their bourbon brand.

Vampire Fan Weekend will take place October 25-26, 2025 at the Doubletree by Hilton Orlando Hotel in Orlando, FL. So far it looks like the special guests are limited to TVD universe cast members, but you can find out more about events (like Karaoke) and their schedules here.

There isn't a clear list of pricing readily available for quick look-up posted, but if you would like to look at pricing for individual photo-ops, autographs, special events, and more, you can check here. (Admission passes can also be accessed from this page.)

Last, but not least, Spooky Empire will be hosting their events from October 31 to November 2, 2025 at the Hyatt Regency Orlando in Orlando, FL. There will be many events taking place like live performances, panels, photo ops with special guests, creating your own shrunken head, and more! Check out their beautiful schedule of events page here.

Their ticket prices don't just include admission to the convention. There are add-on options for photo ops, workshops, and more and they can be found here. The more that I looked through the schedule of events, the more that I wanted to personally attend this convention (I will already be out of town visiting friends in another state for Halloween weekend). I appreciate how well-organized and legible the website is as well. It's set up beautifully and it's super easy to follow. It also looks like a PACKED weekend of activities, so maybe this can be an idea for next time.

And that's a wrap. These were some of the conventions that I thought looked pretty interesting. Are there any horror or Halloween related events that you're looking forward to? Do any of these conventions interest you? Let me know and thank you so much for reading this post.

I hope that you have a wonderful Sunday and I will see you in the next post!
